1894 3c Jackson & 5c Grant 1st Bureau Issue singles used on 2c Entire envelope sent August 7, 1895 from Freeport, Illinois, to U.S. Minister John Barrett in Bangkok, Siam (Thailand). A nice three-color franking paying the double 5c Universal Postal Union rate to a very rare 19th century foreign destination. A small tear at bottom right barely affects the address and does not detract at all from this item.
